It all began with rocks.  Early discoveries were made in the neighborhood and later, when the sisters ventured farther afield, their treasures expanded.  The first collections where kept in egg cartons and when there were too many, boxes and bags were filled.  Some were identified; others remained mysteries.  The best ones were glued into settings and hung on chain that turned their skin green.  The seeds of future jewelry designers had been planted. 

Having long jettisoned green-skin-turning materials, Karen Judge launched 2SisterDesigns with the help and support of her sister Christina in the early 2000s after years of jewelry design as a creative outlet.  When top boutiques and galleries in San Francisco began carrying her designs, it became clear it was time to set aside distractions and expand nationally. Karen said goodbye to her salary job and went for broke.

All designs are handcrafted by the 2SisterDesigns team in Karen’s San Francisco studio using traditional metalsmithing techniques. Their designs are inspired by the unexpected beauty of everyday objects and places, the challenge of creating without limits, and an undeniable urge to express. Each piece is of top-quality materials including silver and gold, flawless stones, and vintage treasures.

2SisterDesigns is privileged to have its collections carried by respected stylemakers including New York’s Henri Bendel, Raleigh’s Fleur Boutique, Dallas’ Elements, and Santa Barbara’s Wendy Foster, as well as by international retailers J.
